Waterfront 6-Bedroom Home in St. Croix

From the moment you enter, this award-winning home by Hugh Newell Jacobsen, architect of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's Martha's Vineyard residence, draws you toward the Caribbean Sea. Set on 2.75 oceanfront acres, the design pairs soaring ceilings and walls of glass with a dramatic central atrium featuring 20-foot live palms. Large, bright rooms open to private patios, creating an easy connection to the outdoors. Across the main residence and guest house are six bedrooms plus a loft, with plenty of room for guests. The beautiful kitchen overlooks the pool and sea, while the 15-foot concrete dining table is made for gatherings. Outside, the resort-style pool is the centerpiece, framed by fountains. A successful vacation rental, and just a short drive from Frederiksted and beautiful beaches.Beyond the initial impression, the scale and thoughtfulness of the design continue throughout the home's expansive indoor and outdoor living space. Solid concrete construction, soaring 20-foot ceilings, expansive walls of glass, and concrete flooring that flows seamlessly from interior rooms to exterior patios give the home a sense of permanence while keeping it completely connected to the surrounding landscape and sea. Trade winds move easily through the residence, and nearly every room enjoys its own outdoor retreat.
